Extreme Weather

Canada has more kinds of extreme weather than anywhere else on the planet. And as if that weren't already bad enough, global climate change has meant an increase in the frequency and severity of storms, floods, droughts and other catastrophic weather events. Using dramatic archival footage, original shots and home videos, this documentary special recalls some of the top ten weather disasters of the last century — including Hurricane Hazel in 1954 and the ice storm of 1998. The two-part series reveals the gripping stories of people whose lives were forever changed by these deadly events.
