Mona Parsons was a Canadian actress, nurse and unlikely hero. She became a member of an informal resistance in the Netherlands against the Nazis during the Second World War and was Canada’s only civilian female prisoner of war. Yet few have heard of her. Reporter Reg Sherren travelled to Nova Scotia to learn her story.
