The COVID-19 Pandemic in Canada

In 2020, the coronavirus, or COVID-19, swept the world. The virus started in Wuhan, China and spread rapidly around the world. On March 12, the World Health Organization officially declared it a pandemic. COVID-19 is a new virus that causes respiratory illness that can be lethal in humans – especially those with weakened immune systems. It is considered more deadly than the seasonal flu. This collection takes stock of the pandemic and its impact on Canadians across the country.
