The Nature of Things A Disease Called Pain

The Nature of Things A Disease Called Pain

For a long time, it was misread as merely a symptom. It's only recently that chronic pain has been considered a complicated multi-dimensional illness. A Disease Called Pain examines four case studies that shows that chronic pain is a disease caused by abnormal changes in the brain and spinal cord and, if not properly treated at an early stage, can take hold and change the body's physical make up. The program includes interviews with leading scientists in pain research and reveals the dark and deeply complex experience of chronic pain.
