The National Cooling the Planet

The National Cooling the Planet

A series of four short documentaries on innovative community environmental projects. The first documentary examines Sherbrooke University’s love affair with city buses, as staff and students ride public transit for free. Next, the program visits the town of Craik, SK, which wants to become Green Town, Canada. Eco-friendly toilets and water filtration systems are just a few steps this community is implementing as it becomes a model in sustainable living. In Alberta, Saving Forests looks at the controversial strategy of "deliberate fires" and how setting fires might actually prevent fires. Finally, the program travels to Yellowknife, NWT as residents implement energy efficient programs to offset the high cost of living.
