CBC Drama Special Dangerous Offender

CBC Drama Special Dangerous Offender

This critically acclaimed drama is based on the true story of Marlene Moore, who gained instant notoriety when she was branded Canada's first female dangerous offender. This is a story about a child raised behind bars: Moore entered her first jail at age 13 and by 28 faced the possibility of a life sentence. At first, Moore is reluctant to fight; she is afraid to stay inside, but more afraid of getting out. As the case proceeds, however, she is buoyed along by two allies: her lawyer and, ironically, a prison guard she once held at knife point in a hostage-taking incident. Tragically, Moore's story abruptly ended when she took her life at age 31. In the end, it seems the biggest danger Moore posed was to one person: herself.
