Marketplace Hospital Prescription Errors

CBC's popular consumer-advocacy show reveals that prescription errors are much more common than we like to think. One study suggests that in hospitals the rate of error in daily drug dispensation to patients is between 10 and 20 percent. Although few of these errors cause major problems, Marketplace reports on how drug errors can result in death. Experts identify a system of sensible checks and balances to reduce medication errors.
