The world lost a great leader in December 2013. Nelson Mandela had been an activist against a bigoted regime in South Africa. His protests landed him in prison for nearly three decades. While there Mandela became the face of the movement that eventually toppled the apartheid regime, and Mandela himself went on to become the first black president of South Africa. Here is the story of his life and how he will be remembered.
