The Fifth Estate Promises of Glory

The Fifth Estate Promises of Glory

This Fifth Estate documentary tracks the successes and failures of four 16-year-old boys as they struggle to balance education, adolescence and family with careers in the Ontario Hockey League. The OHL has been considered the gateway to NHL fame and wealth. The odds are 100 to one that they will make this next step. A big gamble at this age, it means forfeiting the chance of scholarships and higher education. Junior hockey is a multi-million dollar business and hopeful teens are its raw material.
