For all the heralded advances, computers basically run much the same as they did seven decades ago. They've gotten smaller, faster, with more storage, but they continue to run on a language of ones and zeros. Now the world's first commercially available quantum computers are taking those ones and zeros to a level of computing power that has never before existed.
