News in Review Re-inventing the Left in Canada

As the political spectrum in Canada has become more and more diversified, creating five parties in the current House of Commons, the traditional right-wing, centrist and left-wing political ideologies have also been reshaped and re-examined. In this report, CBC reporter Keith Boag investigates the future of the New Democratic Party as well as the future of the overall left wing in Canada, which many observers are suggesting is increasingly required to pursue its political objectives outside the traditional party framework. The report also examines the perceived generational gap between the "old left" and the "new left."
