On a remote island in the Black Sea, scientists dig up what is possibly one of the greatest archaeological finds in the history of Christianity; an exquisite marble box holding what could be the bones of John the Baptist, the man who baptized Christ. Loved by the public and feared by those in power, his story shows how he threatened the Roman Empire to such an extent that King Herod Antipas claimed his life, supposedly before parading his head in front of his guests at a party. There, the story ends abruptly. Or does it? Where was this famous saint buried, and what happened to his body? In this one-hour special, a team of top scientists do the unthinkable and drill into the sacred bones to find out the truth.
