Stratford Festival The Adventures of Pericles

Stratford Festival The Adventures of Pericles

A storm at sea brings love into the life of Pericles, Prince of Tyre; another snatches it away. Many years must pass before fate guides the wandering hero to a poignant reunion with the family he thought he had lost forever. A reviewer in the Waterloo Region Record had this to say: "[Director Scott Wentworth] sets the story in Victorian times, as if the epic were written by none other than Charles Dickens....This is a fine stroke of creative innovation." This Stratford production of the play co-written by Shakespeare stars Evan Buliung as the title character, while Deborah Hays plays a triple role. Warning: this film addresses mature themes, including the suggestion of incest without any on-film depiction.
