The Forest of Reading's Silver Birch Express Award is comprised of fiction and non-fiction titles, is geared to reluctant readers and is typically suited for Grades 3 and 4.

- A Last Goodbye by Elin Kelsey, illustrated by Soyeon Kim
- Peter & Ernesto: Sloths in the Night by Graham Annable
- The Phone Booth in Mr. Hirota's Garden by Heather Smith, illustrated by Rachel Wada
- Planet Hockey: First Star of the Game by J. Torres, illustrated by Tim Levins
- Terry Fox and Me by Mary Beth Leatherdale, illustrated by Milan Pavlović
- The Train by Jodie Callaghan, illustrated by Georgia Lesley
