News in Review The Forgotten Soldier: Helping Veterans with PTSD New

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may be better understood these days, but those who have it often still suffer alone. Jim Lowther served in the Canadian Army, but when he left the service he found his nightmares still dogged him. His search for help brought him to others who were also suffering. So Lowther launched VETS Canada – a network of dedicated volunteers, many PTSD sufferers themselves – who help former soldiers in crisis. And that led him to Great Big Sea guitarist Sean McCann, who teamed up by bringing the music.
