As the crisis in the Middle East escalates once again, Israel – responding to ongoing suicide bombings – re-occupies large parts of the West Bank in the face of strong opposition from Palestinians and Palestinian supporters, as well as from political pressure from abroad. The fate of the peace movement and the effectiveness of international initiatives to stop the violence and the heavy loss of life on both sides are examined.
