News in Review The Shooting of Gabrielle Giffords

In early January, a gunman opened fire at a small political rally in Tucson, Arizona. Six people were killed and 14 others were injured, including a congresswoman — Gabrielle Giffords. Giffords was shot in the head but survived, and the shooting triggered a passionate political debate in the United States.
